A Five-Day Tour: From Fes to Marrakech

1st Day: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes

Breakfast means the beginning. We drive towards Merzouga through the Middle Atlas region. We choose to go through Ifran, and penetrate the forest of Azrou, which stands for stone. The cedar forest is worthy of having a quick stop; where we seek to handfeed the monkeys. We continue the trip towards Midelt. It is to be where we usually have lunch. We follow the Ziz valley through the valley and stop to see the Ziz Gorges on our way to Merzouga. 5 Days Fes to Marrakech desert tour

2nd Day: Let us Explore Merzouga and Erg Chebbi

In this day we explore the marvelous Erg Chebbi desert dunes as well as desert region. We make a tour of the desert dunes; whereby, you have the opportunity to see the nomad’s way of life.  You are invited to compare globalized life with the sheer contrasts of the desert. We later pay a visit to Khamlia. The “black village” is to see the Gnawa musicians. Afterword, we eat a Berber pizza or locally-known as Lmadfuna for lunch in the city of Rissani.

In the afternoon, we ride the camel to observe the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. We have a locally-prepared tagine for dinner, drink delicious mint tea, and listen to traditional Berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing desert.

3rd Day:  from Erg Chebbi via Rissani to Todra Gorges

Today is the end of discovering tour of the desert. We have breakfast and we trek camel back to the hotel for the purpose of having a shower following the dunes. We begin the Sahara desert dunes of Erg Chebbi. It is another brief way via the hamada (black Desert) to get to the Sahara town of Rissani. It is optional visit of the market. Afterward, we head north to Erfoud that is known for the fossils. We can have a stop to visit a fossil making before we keep on to Tinghir. It is known for rock climbing, where you can hike before we check into to the hotel. Dinner and overnight are served at the hotel.

4th Day: From to Tudgha Gorges to Ouarzazate

By having breakfast at the hotel, we begin our journey along the road of one thousand Kasbahs, since there are a huge number of Kasbahs on both sides of the road. Some of those old houses are fortified and preserved. However, many of them are only ashes. We pass through Dades valley and go up to the mountainous area. The area is peripherilized, whereby many Berber villages and a few nomads reside in caves. We are there to make the most of it and pay a visit to one of these families and take a look at their daily life and their main activity living on herds of goats and sheep. We are to be impressed by the landscapes of the rosy valley prior to reaching Skoura palm grove. We reach Ouarzazate so as to have dinner and overnight at the hotel.

5th Day: from Ouarzazate via Ait Benhaddou and High Atlas to Marrakech

Breakfast comes first. We visit Taourirt Kasbah prior to departing to Ait Benhaddou. As far as Ait Benhaddo is concerned, its visit is significant in light of the World Heritage Site. We continue to visit the authentic high Atlas Amazigh village of Telouet and the Kasbah of El Glaoui. We usually tend to take lunch in a cafe near Telouet prior to penetrating the Tizi-n-Tichka to Marrakech.
