1st Day: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Boumalen Dades
We pick you up at your accommodation in Marrakesh. The tour has just begun; we set off for the Dades Gorges. We drive you through Tizi-n-Tishka/ the pass of Tishka in the High Atlas Mountains. Later, we visit the world heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. It has been also the background for many films including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and Alexander. After lunch we enjoy the fascinating landscapes and cultural monuments of Taourirt Kasbah in Ourzazate and the Valley of the Roses. It is famous for its annual Festival of Roses. We also pass through the Berber villages of El Kelaa N M’Gouna/The castle of Mgon and Boumalene Dades, in which we spend the night.
2nd Day: From Dades Gorges via Tudgha Gorges to Ramlia Village
Breakfast comes at first of the day. We leave Boumalene Dades towards Ramlia. It seems to be a a forgotten Berber village in the southeast of Morocco. We drive via the Dades valley and Toudgha Gorges, and get to Alnif centre. The next point is Tazoulate, Fzou, and Hi Fougani at last. We are supposed to have a picnic before getting Ramlia. In it, we grab the opportunity to meet local people and visit Ramlia children’s literacy fund. Finally, we spend the whole night in a small Berber guest house.
3rd Day: From Ramlia Village to Merzouga
Breakfast is prioritized. After this, we head for Erg Chebbi and Merzouga, enjoying the desert landscapes, passing by Taous countryside. We then have an opportunity to listen to Gnawa music of Khamlia. Lunch is served in the latter. Then it is a short drive to a nearby hotel for some refreshments prior to a camel trekking into the desert. luggages are left at the hotel. 90 minutes is allotted to camel trekking. It takes us to a Berber camp in Erg Chebbi sand dunes. It is the highest dunes in North Africa. The camp consists of several comfortable Berber tents equipped with mattresses and linen, a restaurant, a kitchen and a ‘natural’ toilet. The evening is programmed to have dinner first and second entertainment animated by Berber drums around the gathering on the fire.
4th Day: From Merzouga to Fez
We precedes sunrise to purposefully enjoy it. You wake up to climb the sand dunes for picture-taking opportunities. We then make our way back to the hotel for showers and breakfast before heading for Fez. On the way, we pass through Erfoud, then Errachidia and Meditlt. The cedar forests and monkey troupes of Azrou come later towards Ifrane. We intend to drive you back to Fez at your accommodations in Fez.
