Hike in the heart of the high central atlas departing from the Bougmez valley. An itinerary that allows different panoramic views of the valleys and villages of the Massif and on the southern side of the atlas: valley of the roses and the Saghro. A hike that leads us to the heart of the gorges M’goun in a beautiful scenery, cliffs over 80m high, troglodyte houses before arriving in the valley of roses and its thousand Kasbahs.
day 1:
Arrival in Marrakech, transfer and overnight at the hotel
day 2:
Departure for Azilal with a stopover at Ouzoudes waterfall where we serve tea. Arrival at the end of the day in the Bougmez valley and night at the cottage in the village of Ait Imi at 1750m altitude. 5H drive.
day 3:
A quiet day to discover the villages and the valley with a panoramic view from the collective attic of Sidi Moussa which dominates the whole valley. A tea will be served at the inhabitant and night in Bivouac in Arousse. 4 to 5 hours of easy walking.
day 4:
We leave the Bougmez valley for the red valley of Abachkou, Bivouac by the river. 5 to 6 hours of walking.
day 5:
We take a little altitude following the red valley in the shade of century-old walnut trees. Light climb by small gorges to get to the source. Bivouac 6 hours of walking. We are at 2200m altitude at the foot of the M’goun massif.
day 6:
First a small pass before starting a long climb by a path that dominates the Tassaoute Valley. We reach the sadramte pass at 3100 m and then the talkadite plateau at 2900m altitude. Bivouac 6 hours of walking.
day 7:
Ascension M’goun summit at 4068m with beautiful views of the south side of the atlas. Descent on the Uililimte valley 2600m. Bivouac by the river 8h walk.
day 8:
A small, quiet day to the Aflafal springs. Bivouac. 3 hours of walking. Afternoon rest.
day 9:
We follow the M’goun river crossing many Berber villages, here we are far from any civilization, a particular rhythm of life. Tea will be served at the homestay in the village of Igoraman. Night under tent in Imi-rikt just before the entrance of the gorges. 6 hours of walking.
day 10:
Descent of gorges (walk in the water from time to time), villages of shepherds clinging to the cliffs, troglodyte dwellings, beautiful gorges sometimes very narrow. Night under tents in the village of Tighanimine. 6 hours of walking.
day 11:
The gorges become wider giving birth to larger crops, orchards …. Beautiful kasbahs and the south is announced by a change of landscapes more arid. We are in the Valley of Roses and Kasbahs. Night in bivouac in the village of Tamgalouna. 5 hours of walking.
day 12:
We continue our descent along the river M’goun, after the village of Tamgalouna, we arrive at the village of Boutaghrar where we spend the night in a cottage. 4 hours walk and free afternoon.
day 13:
Return by road millets Kasbah to Marrakech passing by Kalaat Mgouna, Ouarzazat and the Tichka pass. 6 hours drive. Night at the hotel.
day 14:
Free day in Marrakech. Night at the hotel15 days:
